We are hurting for Role Models these days.  Everywhere you turn a public person is either sticking their foot in their mouth or getting into loads of trouble for stupid mistakes.  Just this past month we have had Jon & Kate, David Letterman, and Kanye West exposed to significant amounts of bad press.  The days of the Disney Mouseketeers are over and it is left up to each celerity to decide how to be the best version of themselves.  There is one young Hollywood actress that goes that extra mile for fans and has been crowned a great role model by many.

It is extremely difficult to find a role model these days in Hollywood.  Many are too busy boy hopping or club hopping to realize their fans are watching their every move.  There is one star in Hollywood that understands her role and uses it to help guide her fans down the right path.  Miley Cyrus hit the scene as Hannah Montana and fans of all ages fell in love with her.  The quirky yet cute Southern girl won us over with her articulate comedic timing, her bubbly personality, and her willingness to connect with her fans.

(Editor’s Note: This article was written the day before Miley deleted her Twitter account.)  The Disney star loves to tweet and by doing so she gives fans an extremely private and rare look inside the life of a superstar.  Sadly, the star is mistreated for being so open when in fact she should be praised for her candor.  Regardless of whether or not she sounds cool or hip she tweets about what is on her mind.  Whether it is about love, about friendship, or even about what Disney movie the star is currently watching, Miley gives us a peak into her world.  This courage that is displayed will teach others to be self-confident and that is what makes a role model.

Why is Miley my role model? Well, I am not sure if that is really the right term to use or not. I am twice her age. I like Miley’s music and I think she is a fabulous actress with immense potential to be one of the greatest.

Miley’s dream was to be an entertainer. She wanted to be a singer and an actress. She chased after her dreams and she did not give up. Today, she has a number one TV show, she has finished filming her second movie, The Final Song coming out next year and she has multiple albums out. She has millions of fans in every corner of the world. And even though she is only 16, she doesn’t let all the fame go to her head. She has remained down to Earth. I am inspired by all of her success and I look up to her for that.

If Miley can chase after her dreams and succeed through hard work, then I can do the same thing with my dreams. Does that make her my role model? I wish Miley good luck in all her future endeavors.
