Miley is Not Racist.

February 7th, 2009

According to www.foxnews.com, this is what Miley Cyrus wrote on her offical website about the picture whom some people are saying that she is making a racist gesture.

“I’ve also been told there are some people upset about some pictures taken of me with friends making goofy faces! Well, Im sorry if those people looked at those pics and took them wrong and out of context. In NO way was I making fun of any ethnicity! I was simply making a goofy face. When did that become newsworthy … It seems someone is trying to make something out of nothing to me … I definitely feel like the press is trying to make me out as the new ‘BAD GIRL.’

I feel like now that Britney is back on top of her game again, they need someone to pick on! Lucky me. You guys know my heart and know the most important things to me are my friends, family, fans and GOD! In NO WAY do I want to disappoint any of you! But when I have made mistakes in the past, I feel like I’ve owned up to them and apologized,” she added.

I did look at the picture. Most of Miley and her friends do look like they are making funny faces. I did not think she meant any harm by doing that. Growing up, I have heard and seen worse. My Great Grandfather was Native American. I have small eyes that angle down. When I laugh, they seem to disappear. Just think of the comments and gestures I got, and they were not even trying to make funny faces. Miley is right. Her fans are important to her. She would not want to disappoint any of them.

Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus Singing Together

It looks like Country Singer Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus will be singing a duet at the Grammys, according to Gina Serpe, writer for www.eonline.com. The two will be singing Taylor Swift’s “Fifteen.”

“We were trying to figure out different things that would be cool,” Taylor told E! News’ Ryan Seacrest. “We all kind of agreed, ‘Wouldn’t it be cool if Miley was up there too and we’re singing together?’ And we’re excited about it.”

So am I. I can not wait.

Miley told Ryan Seacrest that the lyrics “are very inspiring” and that they hit close to home for the singer.

“This song is perfect for the Grammys,” Cyrus said.

“We’ve known each other for a while,” Miley said. Taylor added, “We’ve definitely been there for each other.”

The 51st Grammy Awards air Sunday on CBS. Please check you local listings for the times.
