Miley Cyrus’ tattoo has positive meaning

Miley Cyrus generated a ton of controversy last week after being spotted with a tattoo while walking around Miami Beach. However, this story actually ends up having a happy ending. According to a new report by Perez Hilton, the tattoo in question, which reads “just breathe,” is actually a tribute to her friend Vanessa, who lost her life due to Cystic Fibrosis. “Just breathe” is the slogan for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Cystic fibrosis is a debilitating genetic disease that particularly impacts the lungs. Due to a number of problems caused by the disease, including heart failure, the majority of people found to have CF die at an early age.
Are you happy that Miley Cyrus is using a tattoo to support a cause, or is it really any of our business? Let me know what you think by leaving a comment.

Will’s Comments: Personally, I wouldn’t want to have a tattoo where she got hers at. I wish Miley wouldn’t have gotten one. However, having said that, it is her body and her life. It is not illegal to get a tattoo. So I don’t really see where it is anybody’s business. As usual, Miley has shown good taste in choosing a positive and hopeful message for her tattoo.

January 31st, 2010 at 10:40 pmI don’t think having a tattoo is something that can be taken as a bad example. She had it given her friend died, it’s not like she tattooed the name of some boy she likes. Personally i wouldn’t have a tattoo, but she supports a cause, and I think it’s great. I love Miley and having a tattoo it’s not a controversy. I’m very sad she lost her friend, Vanessa, may she rest in peace .

July 27th, 2010 at 3:08 amJust breathe is not the slogan for the CFF. My sister also died from cystic fibrosis and I was very involved with the foundation. The only slogan that I’m aware of is “Adding tomorrows everyday” for the CF walks. The CFF does sell bracelets that say “Breathe” as a fundraiser, but nothing with the slogan “Just breathe”.

October 20th, 2010 at 12:38 amI’m very happy she got the tattoo. I have cystic fibrosis and it doesn’t get enough publicity for how many people it affects. It would actually be so awesome and such a blessing if she would speak out about it more on behalf of Vanessa and the others still struggling with it. Just Breathe isn’t the slogan but it makes total sense; it’s a very simple statement that it so complex and difficult for us living with CF to do.

October 20th, 2010 at 12:43 amCystic Fibrosis has nothing to do with the heart. Its a genetic disease affecting the lungs and heart that gets progressively worse and so far there is no cure. Check out the CF foundation website!
